Newborn
My firstborn turned 17 recently, and I often look back at his first few photos and marvel on his beautiful journey so far.
Do we need to even talk about the importance of newborn photos? Let's just say newborns stay "newborn" for a very short time. While we would never forget the first time we saw or held them, photos preserve how delicate, small, and just precious they are; not allowing those memories to fade.
I am a little biased towards lifestyle sessions with newborns. Sessions that not just capture the baby's tiny details, but also the emotions they evoke in the family around them. These would be in the comfort of your home, capturing the baby's new home, surroundings, siblings, family pets, and of course the proud parents. A personal favourite of my younger one's newborn days is of him in his dad's arms. And one of a much younger me, smitten with this miracle in my arms.
Feel free to discuss if you would prefer a studio session instead.
"We stumbled upon Sakshi when my eldest son turned one, and she has been our go-to photographer ever since! Ashton is now 10!
Not only is she the sweetest person, but her talent for capturing magical moments—whether in cozy settings or bustling events—is absolutely incredible! Both kids and adults adore her, and the photos she takes are always so natural and heartfelt. She has a knack to snap the most vibrant and dynamic shots." -Michelle
"Sakshi has captured my kids’ growth naturally and glowingly through the years, and now become a great friend. She is a delight and I’m so grateful for the wonderful images she has captured for us each and every time" -Helen Z
"I love working with Sakshi to capture our precious moments as a family. She is a joy to work with and always gets the most beautiful shots!"

Newborn sessions are most often done when the baby is under 2 weeks old.( This does not apply to premies or babies that need neonatal care). I would mark your due date on my calendar, and be in touch as the date comes close. Depending on when you deliver, we shall then firm the session date.
I only do newborn shoots in the first half of the day. Newborn sessions can be 2-3 hours long as the little one's needs and comfort come first. Mornings are when babies and their families are all at their "freshest".
For the baby, I do have some muslin wraps and blankets. Would recommend a neutral colored onesie, and nappies. If you don't have a huge objection to it, then a pacifier is a massive help to settle baby during the session.
For the parents, I recommend neutral/light colours. Fabrics with texture (Lace/ Tweed/ Muslin) or sheen (Satin/silks) photograph very well.
I will send you a detailed clothing guide, and can discuss in the phone consult.
Newborn sessions are best done in the comfort of your home. Don't worry if your home isn't perfectly tidy, especially with all the newborn gear around—it's completely normal!
I will scout for places with good light in your home, and have my own ways to make those places work!
